How Bioeconomy can be a game-changer in Sweden?

Another important aspect of Sweden is not to handle the emission problem but also the economic transition strategy

So what does that mean? A new way of circulating the wealth? Or use of environmentally friendly products.

Bioeconomy focuses on the use of natural processes actively to generate energy or industrial products and even much other stuff. The bio-economy means to make things environmentally friendly.

Sweden is one of the pioneer countries in a sustainable way of living. They are prominently using natural materials with 100% recyclable quality so that they can be a part of the ‘cradle-to-grave’ process.

However, the major challenge in Sweden is to withstand the green technology to be a competitive edge over other means. As per the  Swedish Forest Industries Federation, the woodland bio-economy is exporting worth SEK 145 billion (EUR 14.2 billion) a year. It is considered to be a high-tech industry.

Sweden’s majority of the forest provides the main supply of wood products to the EU. The industry is not just limited to generated energy.

The woods are also used for sustainable textile fibers. A quality amount of research projects are turning trees into textile and old textile into paper.

RISE – Sweden’s research institute, is exploring different methods and materials for fibers, yarns, and nonwoven fabrics production from bio-based and synthetic raw materials.

The project is a highly ambitious goal of turning the future trends and styles to wear clothes from recycled fabrics.

Even big companies like H&M Group, Inter IKEA Group, Stora Enso, and LSCS Invest are also focused on commercializing the products with cellulose. The focus is the use of sustainable textile fibres with a low environmental footprint i.e. woods.
