Ather Energy is an Indian electric scooter company established in 2013 by Tarun Mehta and Swapnil Jain. The headquarter was in Bangalore, India. The journey started in October 2013 at the Indian Institute of Technology- Madras Research Park. The joint venture of the BTech and MTech batch led to the first smart electric scooter.
The company attracted a huge investment from Hero MotoCorp of about Rs.420 Crore. Hence, Hero MotoCorp is holding a 34.8% share in the Ather Energy electric scooters.
Ather is launching two products, Ather 450 Plus and Ather 450 X.

The specifications of the Ather 450 X are, a large 2.9 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, powering electric motors to produce 6 kW (up from 5.4 kW), 8 bhp of maximum power, and 26 Nm of peak torque, It provides a full 6 Nm than the old 450 scooters.
The Ather 450X is launched in four modes-Eco, Ride, Sport, and Warp. The new model is Warp with full access of 26 Nm. The Ather 450X can accelerate 0-40 km/h in 3.3sec, the true range is 85 km, Peak power is 6 kW, and with fast DC charging 15km in 10 min.
The Ather 450 Plus can accelerate 0-40 km/h in 3.9 sec, the true range is 70 km, peak power is 5.4 kW, Torque is 22 Nm and with fast DC charging 10 km in 10 min.
The dashboard is a 17.78 cm (7”) LCD for rides, navigating using Google map, pausing, playing music, Bluetooth connection for accepting or rejecting calls. It has got Android connectivity with a 4G connection.
The company is setting its record by launching a 25,0000 450X electric scooter in the market at its Hosur facility. The Ather 450plus is available at Rs. 131647 and Ather 450X are available at Rs.150657.
