What do Swedish people think about Sustainability?

One of the well-known nations known for its environmental protection laws and acts. As well as a promise to continue the work towards environmental protection milestones and create more strong fundamental laws to safeguard its natural resources.

Sweden was the first country in history to form an environmental protection agency in 1967 known as Naturvårdsverket.

In 1972, the first UN conference on the environment was hosted in Sweden, leading to the creation of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). Till today it is celebrated as the leading global environmental authority.

In 1995, Sweden became the first country for the carbon tax introduction, helping in the reduction of dependency on fossil fuels.

One of the powerful protocols to monitor the emission targets for developed countries. It is known as the Kyoto protocol was one of the first nations, Sweden, signed it in 1998 and 2002 to ratify the international climate change treaty.

Sweden has also been termed as the environmental pioneer for the use of more than half of the national energy supply from renewable energy sources.

So, what do the Swedish people think about corporate sustainability,

Around 37% of the people think corporate sustainability is very important for workplaces. However, less than 10% think it’s not at all important to very small importance. (2019 to 2020)

In my opinion, the theme of sustainability is not something new in Sweden. The people are very well aware of the importance of environmental protection acts and how important it is not just in the present but also for the future generation.

The various initiatives and the continuation to not just follow but strongly come up with new protocols are proving that they are an environmental pioneer.

A country submerged more than half a year in Winter and facing the harsh climates anybody can even think of. Is something creating awareness among the world that how serious Swedish people are about the environmental policies?
