Ecosure PulpMolding: Revolutionizing Manufacturing Systems to Prevent Plastic Waste

Ecosure PulpMolding is based in India, a leading designer, and builder of molded fiber manufacturing systems. The solution of Ecosure Pulpmolding replaces single-use plastics with environmentally friendly molded chemical-free, molded fiber products.

The goal of Ecosure PulpMolding is to prevent 300 million tons of plastic from going into landfills, incinerators, oceans, and waterways as plastic waste each year.

Q:Tell me about yourself and your decision to Ecosure.

My name is Kritika and I’m the CEO and co-founder of Ecosure. And I’ve been associated with Ecosure since the beginning, of 2019 when we came in. Before Ecosure, I’ve been with Yes Papers, wherein I joined the industry with Yash Papers in 2017.

And going ahead, why would I choose this is only because see, I am a person who knows how important our Mother Earth is and I understand how important it is to save the future.

Otherwise, we know what is happening with single-use plastic all across the globe. So, this is the reason why I got into this industry and why we started with this.

Q:Can you tell us in detail about the technology you are using?

At EcoSure currently, we have 4 ranges of machines that we are offering to our clients which are semi-automatic and fully automatic with two ranges in semi-automatic.

On two sizes, one is EcoSar 10095 and one is EcoSar 7565.

On the fully automatic range, we have EcoSar 9570 which is again the first fully automatic machine made in India, which gives you excellent production.

There is very little, I would say breakdown or there is very little of Say production loss, it is a beautiful machine that has come to India and we’ve already sold 10 machines.

We have booked over 18X machines that we should be selling across the next six months.

Q: In India, which sectors you are catering to?

So, I would say, everybody who’s come into this industry is a fresher or has been into a business.  And the maximum factories that we’ve set up are mostly by the freshers who understand the importance of greener.

Q: And what’s the price?

The smallest project that I’m talking about, which is a three-ton, would approximately cost six, six, and a half crores.

Q: And who are your targeted clients?

Targeted clients in that way should not be something that we were talking about because you know again it is a business that is word of mouth and the other part is social media marketing is something that brings more interest for people because people get excited when they see something like this.

If they understand what is the importance of removing single-use plastic, they do come into this side of the business.

And what is your opinion of the obstacles or the challenges that you have faced?

I would say see at least three years ago, the obstacle was the raw material, which has now become zero. The more the factories are increasing, the more the pulp pills are increasing.

So, the obstacles are not something that is. There are no such big obstacles that you see in this industry at all.

Q: And which part of India do you think?

I think Gujarat is the market that you should be talking about. I think Gujarat is somewhere where we’ll see another 100 factories coming up in the next six months, especially in this area.

So, this industry is now going to go triple the numbers in Gujarat.

Q: What’s your market projection right now?

If we say market projection for Gujarat and then.

I’m already setting up three factories back-to-back in Gujarat as of now which we would close by next month. You can say by July we should be having three more factories running in Gujarat. We have on paper another 12 factories setting up in Gujarat which will also come commissioned by latest by February next year.

And can you tell us a little bit about this diagram?

OK now you know it is a big confusion for people that you can just take a sugar cane and then make tableware.

It is not how it happens. Sugar cane is first converted into pulp and then and that too the molasses out of the sugar cane is converted into pulp and then some pulp and tableware are made. So, a pulp mill and tableware are two different concepts that we run separately.

So, we are also into pulp mills now. We’re setting up our first pulp mill in Australia, which is a 15-ton pulp mill. And then we are going to spread it across. We are going to have one in Bangalore very soon.

It’s going to be a smaller pulp mill, but then again it is going to be a showcase for everybody.

Q: And are you importing the machines from other countries?

No, nothing. It is 100% made in India. So, it is very clearly said made in India for the globe.

Q: And what’s your opinion on the raw materials, and raw sources?

I think it is growing numbers. So that’s not a problem at all.

Raw material and then people are now also spreading wheat straw, rice straw, bamboo, and a lot of raw materials that people are trying to test.

If you see in the southern part of India, people are testing Pineapple pulp and banana pulp.

So, anything that has good cellulosic fiber can be converted into pulp.

So, this machine is not just for the pulp, it’s actually yes, it is actually for any agro waste that has cellulosic fiber.

Q: And what’s your favorite location, apart from Gujarat?

I think Uttarakhand is the next location. I think till now in Uttarakhand there is nobody else other than Ecosure who set up a factory.

Q: And what’s your key message for today’s world?

I think people should stop, stop using plastic, at least stop using single-use plastic, and get into something that is good for nature.
