How electric motor drives can save CO2 emissions?

Among all sectors, the industry in Germany is the sector with the highest electricity consumption. At around 230 TWH, its demand accounts for almost half (2018: 47%) of total consumption.

In an industrial process, the demands that are measured are reduced particularly following political decisions such as the Paris Climate Agreement, guidelines, and directives at the national and international level, aiming to exploit this savings potential in an industry by reducing CO2 emission with the help of cutting down the consumption.

The requirements for companies, therefore, include the use of energy management systems in accordance with ISO 50001, including proof of their effectiveness in the form of efficiency improvements in accordance with ISO 50003, and the implementation of Eco-Design requirements for low-voltage electrical drive systems in accordance with the European standard EN 50598.
